East Providence Memorial Day Parade

It is with deep and profound regret that we at American Legion Riverside Post 10 will need to cancel the annual Memorial Day Parade for this year. Based on recommdations and guidance from local, state and national officials in regards to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a decision that is not taken lightly as it is normally a great way to pay tribute and honor those that paid the Ultimate Sacrifice. However, in these times, it is only right and necessary that we take the safety, health and well-being of parade participants and parade viewers as our number 1 priority. While the parade may be cancelled we ask parents to take time on Memorial Day weekend to discuss with your children the meaning of Memorial Day. We want to thank you for your understanding and support. We promise that next year, the parade will be bigger and better than ever.
