Hennessey’s Starting the Year Off Strong #HennesseyRising

Posted

As we enter the 2021-2022 school year, Hennessey Elementary is excited to begin a new year of teaching and learning with our heroes! We continue to work with students and families to best meet the needs of all our students and school community.

Our annual “Welcome Back Ice Cream Social” was well attended and a lot of fun this year! Students and families were able to meet the Hennessey staff while enjoying an ice cream treat.

Hennessey students and staff love a spirit day! They were always eager and excited to show their creativity and school spirit. In September, we had Tourist Day, Wear Yellow, and Wear Green. Looking forward to our October Spirit Days of Dress like a Hero, Unity Day and Black and Orange Day.

The Hennessey Elementary School has a Free Little Library that is up and running at Hennessey. Families can take a book or bring in a book that they are no longer using. The Little Library is located in the front of the building near the flagpole. Hennessey 5th grader, Armel knows that Leaders Are Readers. He enjoys books that are funny. He thinks reading is important because it improves our vocabulary and helps our speaking skills. #LeadersAreReaders

The Hennessey Staff is committed to starting the year strong and building relationships with students and families. We kick off each month with our community morning where we focus on our core value of the month. September had a focus on safety with our annual Start With Hello School Wide Initiative. During this week and every week at school, we strive for all students to feel safe, connected and included by doing different classroom and school-wide activities that focus on inclusion and friendship.#StartWithHello

Hennessey students and staff will continue to work hard each day, and we will continue to show the importance of our core values of being SAFE, RESPECTFUL and PROUD!
