Joseph L. Sullivan, 89, of Rumford for 51 years and Cape Cod, passed away November 18, 2017 at Silver Creek Manor in Bristol. He was the husband of the late A. Constance (Landrigan) Sullivan.

Born in Providence, a son of the late John and Mary (Sheridan) Sullivan. Joseph was a veteran of WWII, graduated from LaSalle Academy, Providence College and received his masters from U.R.I. He was a teacher in the Warwick School Dept. for 35 years and 5 years at Salve Regina University.

He was the father of Catherine Sullivan of Arlington, VA, Betsy S. LaMontagne of Barrington and James L. Sullivan of Portland, Oregon, also grandfather of 6. He was brother of the late Jack Sullivan.

Funeral Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. from the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home 1895 Broad St., at Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford.
