Manuel E. Costa, age 68, of Brown St, died November 8, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Ana M. (Resendes) Costa. Born in Santa Maria, Azores, he was a son of Antonina (Raposa) Costa of East Providence, and the late Joao F. Costa.

He worked as a district manager for One Source, previously working for International Service Systems. He was owner of MEC Cleaning Company and worked as a maintenance worker for the East Providence School Department. Manuel served with the Portuguese Army from 1970-1972 in Guinea-Bissau, Africa. He was a member and current president of Holy Ghost Brotherhood Mariense, member of Holy Ghost Brotherhood Beneficial, Cantares da Ilho do Sol and Convivio Mariense.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, he is survived by his daughters Elisabeth Costa and Philip Frappier of Braintree, MA, Patricia Moniz and Paul Moniz of East Providence, Stephanie Costa of East Providence, 4 grandchildren; Miranda and Mason Moniz, Morgan and Maxwell Frappier. He was the brother of Maria Sousa of Canada, Jose A. Costa and Agostinho N. Costa both of Providence, Mario J. Costa of East Providence, Victor G. Costa of Central Falls, Aida Hall and Paula Calderone both of N. Providence, Rui Costa of Smithfield and of the late Joao Luis Costa.

His funeral will begin on Tuesday (11/14) at 8:45 am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am in St. Martha’s Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday (11/13) from 4-8pm.
