Moosup Valley Junior Grange Project-Project Amelia

Posted

Moosup Valley Junior Grange needed the Grange's help with their Community Service Project. For those who may not know, this year their Junior Grange's Community Service Project is raising money for a 3 1/2-year-old little girl named Amelia. Amelia was diagnosed in February with Acute B Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia, which is a blood cancer. Amelia has a very rough and long road ahead of her and needs the Grange's help. Amelia's Mom, Carly, is actually a phlebotomist, and she was able to help one of the Grange members when she was sick. So, the Grange wanted to return the favor by helping her family.

So recently in conjunction with the Annual Session of the Rhode Island State Grange at Oaklawn Grange Hall on 24 Searle Avenue in Cranston, there was the special Junior Grange program by Moosup Valley Junior Grange. The goal was to raise $1000. The Junior Grangers raised much more money. A check was made out for $4,500. Then the State Grange added another $500. So, a total of $5000 was raised for Project Amelia to Amelia and her mom Carly.
