Robert McElroy

Robert McElroy, 91, of Zephyrhills, Florida passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019 in Zephyrhills. He was the husband of Mary M. (Point) McElroy.

Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late William and Gladys (McConnell) McElroy. Mr. McElroy was a foreman for the Flex – It Jewelry Company before he retired. He was a member of the Teamsters, Local 251 and the American Legion, Post #311. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Barbara A. Janelle and her husband Michael of Swansea, David J. McElroy of East Providence, three sisters, Mae Richardson, Joan Paone and Nancy Grant, four brothers, Thomas McElroy, Edward McElroy, Stephen McElroy and Daniel McElroy, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Robert McElroy, Jr. and brother of the late Gladys Souza, Catherine McKenna, Marjorie Meunier, Arlene Thurber, Virginia Rogers, William McElroy, James McElroy and John McElroy.

His funeral service and visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 10:30 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a service to follow at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
