March 15th-17th

Posted

A tale of two unlikely people destined to cross paths, a royal ball, and a glass slipper fit for a queen. All of these components add up to tell the well-beloved fairytale known as Cinderella. Similar to the classic Disney movie, this musical version of the story written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II pays homage to the traditional Cinderella story with a modern twist.

There are familiar scenes that will call to everyone's inner child as well as remarkable additions that add even more magic to the story. True to its origins, the musical follows the journey of a young woman who yearns to change her life- as well as the lives of others- through kindness and just a bit of magic. Some musical highlights of Cinderella include: “The Prince Is Giving A Ball”, “Impossible”, and “Ten Minutes Ago”.

This timeless story will be brought to life onstage by the Seekonk High School Drama Club this month. The all-student cast has been working diligently to capture the essence of Cinderella through comedic dialogue, harmonic melodies, and toe-tapping dance routines. The Seekonk High School Drama Club production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella will take place on Friday/Saturday, March 15th and 16th at 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday, March 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the Seekonk High School auditorium (261 Arcade Avenue, Seekonk, MA). Tickets can be bought at the door with general admission costing $10, seniors $7, and students $5. This delightful show for all ages is sure to entice audiences and remind us all that little acts of kindness can make seemingly impossible things true.
