Trained Fitness Instructors to lead fitness classes in local parks

PROVIDENCE - the YMCA’s Fitness in the Parks program has the goal of encouraging community members to lead healthy lifestyles and stay fit through exercise. The program provides work-out activities that are led by trained fitness instructors and are located in Rhode Island’s beautiful green parks.

The Fitness in the Parks Program begins in July and goes through August 16th. The locations and times have a wide range in order to provide fitness activities to as many people as possible. Classes are open to all residents and include Zumba, yoga, circuit training and more. Childcare may be available depending on the class and the location.

The City of Providence and Mayer Taveras have been great advocates for this program and support the community in their search for healthy lifestyles. This is the second year of the program and the hope is that a large portion of our local community members take advantage of this free initiative offered through the YMCA.
