On april 15th a fundraiser was held for David Lema and His daughter Jenn Lema and a heart felt thank you goes out to all buisnesses who donated gift certificates, products, people who donated time and effort and sweat and tears to make the fundraiser a sucess. The fundraiser was sponsered by the RED BRIDGE TAVERN of East Providence and friends and Family

On may 2nd, just two weeks after the fundraiser Jenn Lema donated 60% of her healthy liver to her father David Lema at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington Ma. In August of 2011 David was diagnosed with primary hepatic cell carcinoma and the only cure is a liver transplant. Liver cancer prognosis is less than 2 years without transplant. Jenn aproached this diagnosis head on and offered herself as a donor.. Her brave selfless act saved her fathers live and he is now cancer free.

With the donations of friends and local buisnesses they were able to pay hospital bills, medication bills and cover living expenses while unable to work. Our community came together and proved to our neigibors that there are loving caring people and we are greatful to know so many of you. Again thank you with all our hearts.
