"What are you AFRAID of?" a great success!

On Saturday June 23rd, a beautiful sunny day graced Eusebeia Bible Church (EBC) for their 6th "Here It Is" event. About 50 people from the community gathered for an outdoor BBQ, then went inside to see a Celebrity Jeopardy skit about fear, featuring Sean Connery, Goldie Hawn, and Reese Witherspoon, along with Alex Trabek. It just so happens certain members of the church fit those roles perfectly, and what a funny performance it was!

But there was a point, that fear can control our lives, and that is not what God wants for us.

Pastor Ed Collins introduced the purpose of the events to the crowd; namely the goal of answering tough questions that people have in life. Then Evangelist Scott Grande presented on the subject "What are you AFRAID of?", and provided a biblical perspective on fear, and God's instructions about it. In a nutshell, fear is not from God, at least not fear of people or things in this world. The only legitimate fear we should have is of God, who has the power to destroy both body and soul in Hell, according to Jesus Christ in Mat 10.

But the good news is that whoever believes in Christ accepts the forgiveness of God, through Him, and that person is saved from judgment forever, because Christ was already judged for his sins!

Jesus said in John 3:16 "God so loved the world that He gave His uniquely born Son, that whoever believes in Him will never perish, but has eternal life." So why should we fear anything in this world if God has taken care of eternal life for us?! The only thing we should fear is not being on God's side. Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.
