Luis Daniel De La Cruz, age 10, of Freeborn Ave., died May 20, 2017 at Hasbro Children's Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Providence, a son of Jose Luis and Dulce "Blankie" Maria (Espailant) De La Cruz.

Luis was a fourth-grade Student at Whiteknact Elementary School, was a good student and enjoyed learning. He enjoyed video games, remote control cars, played soccer and football.

Luis was known for his kindness, compassion and had a contagious laugh.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers; Fernando Espailant and Jesus Espailant, his maternal grandparents Domitila Conde of Providence and Carlos De La Cruz of Guatemala, uncles, aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Ana Ureña.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours Today, Thursday (5/25) from 9-11am at the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Funeral Home Service will immediately follow at 11am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family requests to kindly omit flowers.
