Troop 55 Riverside Reporter submission May 2021

Posted

For the first time in a year Troop55 returned to monthly camping at the end of March with corvid precautions in place. Scouts from both troops worked on scout skills, advancement and had a great time exploring Camp Yawgoog, showing younger scouts where they will camp for a week this summer and having a Saturday night show. A good time was had by all.

Many scouts participated in and completed the First Aid Merit Badge, one of several Eagle required badges that Troop55 works on together each year.

Several Scouts participated in a community service project. As part of celebrating Earth Day these scouts went to work cleaning up Riverside Square and part of the East Bay Bike Path. Each week at their meetings the scouts recite the Outdoor Code which includes the pledge to “Be clean in my outdoor manners” so they certainly spent the afternoon keeping that pledge.

Your son or daughter can join in the fun, too. For more information go to www.Troop55riverside.org  or come check us out at one of our weekly Monday night meetings held at the Mason Lodge (located @18 Turner Avenue, riverside) @6:30 PM. We hope to meet you soon!
