The Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District announced at a school committee meeting on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 that they have received a donation of $100,000 from the Terry Family. Janice Terry is a Dighton Rehoboth School Committee member whose daughter Lisa attended Dighton Rehoboth Schools before working in the mail delivery department at Bristol County Savings Bank in Taunton. Lisa, an adult with disabilities, successfully held this position for 25 years and contributed a great deal to the community.

Supt. Dr. Anthony C. Azar said, “On behalf of the school district we are extremely appreciative of this incredible tribute to a beautiful person who epitomized everything wonderful about life.” Mr. and Mrs. Terry also indicated that they are grateful for all the special education teachers in the Dighton Rehoboth School District who helped to prepare Lisa for her career at Bristol County Savings Bank. When Lisa passed away in August, 2021, the Terry family wished to honor her legacy with a donation for the purpose of continuing to help others with disabilities.

Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District Special Education Director, Kristin Donahue, is working closely with the Terry family to honor Lisa's legacy and support the special education programs. Supt. Azar continued, “The Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District is extremely grateful for the generous donation from the Terry Family on behalf of their cherished daughter, Lisa.”
