Daniel Danny Longo, 91, of Rehoboth, passed away at home on Monday October 2, 2017 after an illness. Born in Providence, RI, son of the late Alfonso and Giuseppina (Liberatore) Longo and husband to the late Louise G. (McGinn) Longo. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII as Seaman First Class. Along with his late wife, Danny owned and operated restaurants in Taunton for over 30 years, one being D&L Sea Foods in the Weir and the other Dannys in Whittenton. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, enjoyed gardening, and as his family can attest to, he was an outstanding chef. Danny also enjoyed wood working to the extent that he had built his own home. He is survived by two daughters, Gloria Lagasse and her husband Paul of Rehoboth, and Louanne Gonsalves of Basel, Switzerland; His pride and joy, two granddaughters Sarah Lagasse of Virginia and Rebekah Lagasse of Quincy, MA; four brothers Franklin Longo and his wife Norma of Raynham, William Longo of Taunton, Raymond Longo of Taunton, and Domenic of Spokane, Washington; a son-in- law, Dave Gonsalves as well and many nieces and nephews. Daniel was also brother to the late Edward and James Longo. In lieu of flowers Dannys family requests that donations be made in his memory to Community VNA Hospice Care 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA 02703. Private family funeral services will be held in the Crapo Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton, with interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA with Military Honors.
