Edwin (Ed) N. Plath 61, of Rehoboth, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. He was the husband of Ann Marie (Maigret) Plath.

Born on March 30, 1961 in Attleboro, MA he was a son of the late Nels and Elizabeth (Hale) Plath.

Ed grew up in Attleboro and was a graduate of Attleboro High School Class of 1979. He continued his education at the University of Rhode Island and received a Bachelor's degree in Biology.

Ed worked as a machinist for several local companies and was currently employed at Checon Corp. in North Attleboro.

Ed was a man of great Christian faith. He had tremendous love for God and for his family, especially his children and grandson. He was very generous and found fulfillment in giving to others. He was always willing and happy to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it, and often sought out the opportunity to do so.

Ed was at one with nature, loved going for walks in the woods, and thrilled at seeing all varieties of wildlife while on his walks. He found great joy in sitting in the backyard feeding peanuts to the squirrels and chipmunks, and even had some that would eat from his hand. He was jokingly referred to as "The Squirrel Whisperer" by his wife. He enjoyed freshwater fishing and could often be found at one of local ponds during the summer.

Ed was an avid Nascar fan and never missed watching a race. He looked forward to the Daytona 500 and the start of race season every year. He loved all things car related, especially muscle cars and sports cars. He was a New England Patriots and Boston Bruins fan and enjoyed watching tennis and golf as well.

Ed loved to laugh and enjoyed watching comedy movies and television shows and will always be fondly remembered for quoting humorous lines from movies. He loved to make other people laugh as well, playing little practical jokes and saying funny things.

His presence in the lives of his family and friends will be forever missed, and we will keep him in our hearts always.

In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his two daughters, Marisa Plath of Avondale, AZ and Rebecca Plath of Elkins Park, PA; his sister, Leslie Thibodeau of Dayton, TX; also, his stepson, Bryan Lynch of Attleboro and his grandson, Kooper Bechtel of Avondale, AZ.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. Burial will take place privately.
