Increased Police Presence at Rehoboth Schools
There is an increased police presence at Dighton-Rehoboth schools following Tuesday’s school shooting in Texas.
“I join a very long list of people horrified by the events of yesterday,” Dighton-Rehoboth Superintendent Anthony Azar said Wednesday. “After 40 years in education and being impacted by countless senseless tragedies while being a former teacher, assistant principal, principal and now superintendent the news yesterday is as shocking as ever.”
“This morning I have visited all of our district schools in order to revisit safety protocols,” Azar continued. “Both the Dighton and Rehoboth Police Departments have created a collaborative relationship with our school district. We have sent out a communication to our school community with valuable information to help support our students and their emotional needs while we address yet another act of senseless violence.”
