John Valerio, Jr.
John Valerio, Jr. 92, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Orchard View Manor in East Providence.
He was the husband of the late Ljuba (Stoyanoff) Valerio.
Born in Rehoboth, MA, he was the son of the late John Valerio, Sr. and the late Margaret (Souza) Avelar.
John worked for the State Department in Washington, DC, as a computer programmer. He was an Army Veteran serving twice in the military, once as a volunteer and then drafted for the Korean War. He was a graduate of Bryant College earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He was also a member of the East Providence Senior Center.
He leaves one sister, Janet Jaquinto of East Providence, two brothers, Anthony Valerio of East Providence and Edward Valerio of South Carolina. He was the brother of the late Joseph P. Valerio, Mary Sylvester, Irene Silva, Sr. Virginia Valerio, SSD, Manuel Valerio and William J, Valerio.
His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Francis Xavier Church 81 N. Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday 4-7.
