Rehoboth Anawan Lions News

Posted

The Rehoboth Anawan Lions club held its first meeting of the new Lionistic Year 2018-2019 with its new president Janice Gulars who was installed on June 29, 2018. She held her first meeting of the year on July 19, 2018 where we discussed fund raisers for the year and what we have planned in the course of the year.....some are the same and some are new. The events coming up are the GATLIN Show being chaired by Elaine Ferreira and Jeanne Noons.....with all members working the event in one capacity or where needed. It is a great show and has been enjoyed by all who attend and is a delightful show and is always sold out which is an indication of how much it’s enjoyed by all.....so if you didn’t get a chance to go this year ask about it for next year!

We will still be doing our usual Marian Manor bingos this year......we have such a bingo group that if we stopped doing the games we would be leaving a very large group of people who look forward to this game night.......and believe me we are always welcome by the group who are able to come from their rooms to play......we are so popular that we have been doing this for over 20years......and the Chairperson for this event is Deb Pires one of our members......thank you Deb for doing this.

In September we will be having a white cane collection at the Dunkin Donuts in Rehoboth so to all who donate to us we always want to say Thank you for all your donations and look forward to seeing you.

We also will be at the Block Party at the Red Way Plane where we will have a booth...stop in and say HI to all who are there....we look forward to seeing you.

In October we will be having a Pasta Dinner. Watch for the ads that will be forthcoming and more in future Rehoboth Reporter and from this column as well.

We will also be having our Tree Lighting in December....watch for more info on this. There will be lots more in the months to come so please watch for the schedules to show up when it gets closer in time.

One of our members has taken part in the Youth Exchange program and was at the airport picking up the two students from the countries she will be host to for the time they will be here....Stacy Carvalho is really anxious and they will be attending our meetings and events that we will be having....so our club will be quite busy as you can see.....and that’s only a small glimpse of what our plans are for. Keep reading our news in the reporter and we will keep you up to date in all of them.

Thank you in advance for your support and remember our motto “We Serve” and indeed we do.....see you next month!
