Amended D-R Regional Agreement May be Voted on in Fall

Posted

The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Agreement Amendment Committee has completed a first draft of revisions to the regional school agreement. The regional agreement was first created in 1957 and has not been updated in many years. One of the proposed changes is to have one combined kindergarten through Grade 12 budget for the two towns. This would replace the three budgets now used - one for kindergarten through Grade 8 for each town and one combined high school budget. Other changes include updating Dept. of Education rules and regulations and some school committee procedures. If approved by both towns, the amendment will go to the state for approval and hopefully go into effect on July 1, 2017.
