On Saturday, March 10th, the Taunton branch of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) will meet at 12:00 noon at Hong Kong City on Broadway in Taunton.
This will be a luncheon/book discussion meeting. Those attending will discuss: Open Wide the Freedom Gates: A Memoir, by Dorothy Height (c2003). Dorothy Irene Height (1912 – 2010) was an American administrator and educator who worked as a civil rights and women’s rights activist, specifically focused on the issues of African-American women, including unemployment, illiteracy and voter awareness. She received the Congressional Gold medal in 2004.
AAUW membership is open to any graduate holding an associate or equivalent, baccalaureate of higher degree from a qualified educational institution.
