Dighton-Rehoboth Offers School Choice program

Posted

The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School Committee has voted to participate in the School Choice program for the 2025-2026 school year. This program allows students from other districts across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to attend Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School, provided they meet the necessary criteria and space is available. To ensure that the district maintains its commitment to excellence, the School Committee has set a limit of 25 school choice students for the upcoming school year.

“At Dighton-Rehoboth, we are committed to empowering students by providing access to a world-class education in our #WeAreDR Community,” Superintendent Bill Runey said Wednesday. “Our Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses, alongside seven Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, ignite student curiosity and help them realize their full potential. Our nationally-recognized Theatre Program, exceptional visual and performing arts offerings, and comprehensive athletics and extracurricular clubs shape the future of our students, preparing them to succeed as truly future ready. By opening our doors to school choice students, we continue to fulfill our mission to empower, ignite, and shape the next generation of leaders."

“This decision is aligned with the district’s strategic plan, DRiving Toward 2030, which focuses on empowering staff and students, igniting curiosity and learning, and shaping a dynamic, future-ready school community,” Runey added. “The School Choice program offers new opportunities to foster the district's growth while continuing to uphold its high standards of academic excellence and student engagement.”
