GFWC Taunton and Raynham Jr. Woman's Club Activities

Posted

In view of the corona virus the GFWC Taunton and Raynham Junior Woman's Club members are adapting to the new rules to stay safe and practice social distancing.

Monthly meetings have been conducted via ZOOM and members receive a monthly newsletter to keep abreast of what's happening. Most recently members donated $100 in Dunkin Donuts cards to Morton Hospital for their nurses and doctors to show our appreciation for their dedication in taking care of the sick during this pandemic. Nancy Clark presented the cards to hospital representative Julie Masci. On Friday the 15th members Nancy Clark, Cindy Brogan and Nancy Brown also volunteered at First Parish Church in Taunton helping to distribute 339 masks free of charge to anyone who needed them, and they delivered 39 masks to Marion Manor Nursing Home.

The club will hold its June Social on Monday June 8th and will be practicing social distancing while gathering together out of doors. All members are invited to attend but not obligated. However they are asked to wear masks, bring a chair and a bag lunch. They will gather to celebrate the clubs accomplishments in 2019. The GFWCMA Junior Spring Conference was cancelled, but awards were still presented to the winning clubs. The GFWC Taunton Raynham Juniors received the Division II Silver bowl along with certificates for other projects as well as photography winners. The club also donated $2500 in scholarships to several local high schools. and anticipates holding fundraising events in the future to continue to provide needed funds to assist the students and to help local charities. We will go forward with optimism and pray for the safety and health of all.
