City Officials will dedicate a park in the name of its benefactor, the late Kevin "K-Rob" Robinson, who was a well-known and respected BMX rider.

Guests will include members of the Robinson Family, Mayor Bob DaSilva, City of East Providence, East Providence City Councilors and members of the City Winter fest Committee.

The park is located at Onna Moniz-John Neighborhood Park/Central Avenue Playground (located between Central Avenue and McCausland Avenue, East Providence).

The East Providence City Council recently approved the naming of the K-Rob public skate park. The resolution was held in conjunction with the East Providence Winter fest Committee, which has arranged for the plaque to be placed at the site.

Kevin Robinson, a graduate of East Providence High School and a distinguished member of the EPHS Hall of Fame, was known to thousands of Freestyle BMX riders worldwide. K-Rob, progressed and pioneered the sport during his 25 year career and gained worldwide notoriety as the first person to land a double flair at X Games 2006.

K-Rob is the holder of 10 X Games medals including four Gold and two Guinness World Records and visited schools and events throughout East Providence, RI and other locations in the Nation to provide free demonstrations.

Kevin "K-Rob" Robinson, through his non-profit K-Rob Foundation, realized his dream of building East Providence's first free, outdoor public skate park in 2016.

The City of East Providence acknowledges the efforts of a great "Townie" and will be forever thankful for his many gifts to the youth of our City.

Festivities will begin at 12 noon on Saturday.
