James K. Tanner, “JT”

James K. Tanner, “JT”, 84, of Seekonk, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Monday, March 20, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris (Lemonde) Tanner. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Curry) Tanner. He was a navy veteran. He was active with his children in youth sports coaching and umpiring little league with his kids. JT started and finished his career at the Pawtucket Country Club where he started caddying in 1949 and working in the pro shop in 1952. He then served as caddy master at the club until retiring in February of this year. He was inducted into the Professional Caddy Association Hall of Fame in 2010, the RI Golf Hall of Fame in 2015, and the Pawtucket Country Club Hall of Fame. He was well known by all who played golf at the Pawtucket Country Club and will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his family. He is survived by his children, Timothy Tanner and Jennifer Tanner, and her partner Jason Santos, his grandchildren, Jaime Tanner, Bryant Tanner, Fallon Gowans, and Ivy Gowans. He also leaves his brother John Tanner. He was the father of the late James Tanner and the brother of the late Frances Corrigan, Marylee Preston, Elizabeth Goyette, Kathleen Verge, and Edward Tanner. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 28th at 9:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk. Burial will follow in Seekonk Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Costigan-O’Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations to John P.
