M. Elaine Berriman

M. Elaine Berriman, 87, formerly of Seekonk, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the Steere House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Berriman.

Born in Danforth, Maine she was a daughter of the late Leith and Madeline (Lawlor) Violette. Mrs. Berriman worked in the Real Estate Industry for several years as an office manager. In later years she was very active and played a key role in helping to raise all of her grandchildren. She had a special connection with each one of them. She was always the life of the party and loved nothing more than to laugh and have a good time. That quality automatically drew people to her. Her warm heart and loving spirit made her glow from within making everyone who met her feel like she was their Mom, Nana and best friend. She sparkled from inside and out. She also enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively with her husband. Above all else, her family was first and foremost to her and she was always their protector.

She leaves five children, Linda J. Bennett and her husband James, Kathleen A. Carlucci and her husband Michael, Susan B. Shaw and her husband Adam, Edward J. Berriman and his wife Joan and Arthur Y. Berriman and his wife Jennifer, fourteen grandchildren, Michelle, Christine, Katie, Meredith, Laura, Elizabeth, Ellen, Mitchell, Jennifer, McKinley, Harper, Emerson, Tyler and Nicholas, eleven great grandchildren, Mia, Ava, Nico, Grace, Hazel, J.J., Victoria, Jack, Riley, Carter and Bryson and one sister, Evelyn Whitney. She was the sister of the late Joanne Violette, Kathy Longendyke and Joseph Violette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will be private.
