Martin Elementary School, Seekonk - Child Find

Posted

Seekonk Child Find As part of the Child Find process, the Seekonk Public Schools will be conducting preschool screening for 3 and 4 year old children, or children who will turn 3 years of age by August 31, 2022, and are residents of Seekonk.

Screenings are scheduled during the week of March 21-25, 2022, and take approximately one half hour. Children will be screened across developmental (visual motor, adaptive, language and cognition, gross motor skills), social-emotional (self-regulation, compliance, communication, adaptive functioning, autonomy, affect, interaction with people), and speech (articulation) skill areas.

The primary purpose of the screenings is to identify children with developmental delays in need of special education services. In addition, we identify students demonstrating overall typical development who may qualify for a non-IEP/peer partner slot.

Peer partner slots are limited, therefore participants are drawn by lottery for placement for the 2022-2023 school year. Seekonk Child Find and Pre-School Screening Registration
The Seekonk Public Schools currently offers preschool programming at both Martin and Aitken Elementary Schools serving 3 and 4 year-old students who are residents of Seekonk.

Our preschool classes serve both students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and non-IEP students/peer partners (tuitioned) from the Seekonk community.
