Project Chick
Thursday, April 21, 10 AM
Join presenters from Casey Farm in North Kingstown, Rhode Island to learn all about bird life cycles while helping to preserve the endangered Dominique chicken breed, which is raised at Casey Farm.
A farm educator will visit the library for a presentation about bird life cycles and engage kids and families in a hands-on presentation about Dominique chicken and eggs. They will also set up everything needed to incubate a clutch of eggs, right in the library! The eggs will remain in the children's room for about a month, which means we get to watch them hatch and live here temporarily. The baby chicks are then returned to Casey Farm.
