Richard J. Veader

Richard J. Veader, 79, a lifelong resident of Seekonk passed away Thursday November 1, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Loretta (Sousa) Veader to whom he was married for 60 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph R. and M. Gloria (Medeiros) Veader. Mr. Veader was a Custodian for the Seekonk School Department before retiring. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He was an active member of the Seekonk Knights of Columbus, Council 5108 and a member of Saint Vincent DePaul Society. Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Lou-Anne J. Packard, Pamela J. Monroe and Kimberly A. Costa all of Florida, five grandchildren, Amy Ramsey, Robert Thurber, III., Joshua Costa, Brittany Packard and Chase Costa, five great grandchildren, Isla, Wyatt and Brodey Ramsey, Michael and Joy Thurber and several nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Michaela Packard and brother of the late Ernest Veader. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will be in Seekonk Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-8.
