Sunday, March 15

Dear Friends,

As you know, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and neighboring states are experiencing an outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease in which symptoms may appear 2 -14 days after exposure.

Throughout our community, extracurricular activities have been cancelled or postponed. Today, Governor Baker issued a ban on gatherings in excess of 25 people.

The Seekonk Public Library is committed to sharing factual and timely information with our community. At the present time, the Library:

•Will be closed to the public until further notice

•Will modify due dates of items currently checked out accordingly

•Encourages use of our online resources, which include our digital collections of books, audiobooks, music, streaming movies, and databases, and has increased the amount of our resources dedicated to our online offerings

•Has cancelled all current programs and meeting room schedules

As the situation with COVID-19 is fluid, we will continue to notify our community of any changes in our status. We encourage you to routinely check our website and social media channels for any updates.

Our staff will continue to share additional resources that are available for individuals and families over the coming weeks.

We encourage our patrons to ask questions via email and social media.

Lastly, we encourage you to stay informed by visiting the Centers for Disease Control, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and Town of Seekonk web sites.

Sincerely,

Peter Fuller, Director
Kathleen Hibbert, Associate Director

Seekonk Public Library
