Joshua M. Silva, 22, of Seekonk, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 18, 2017 following a motorcycle accident in Fall River.

Born in Providence, the beloved son of Joseph V. and Maria J. (Pereira) Silva and the loving brother of Kaitlyne Silva, all of Seekonk, he had lived in Pawtucket before moving to Seekonk 12 years ago.

Joshua was an installer in the family business, DaSilva’s Floor Covering in Pawtucket.

He was a 2013 graduate of Seekonk High School and received his associate’s degree in criminal justice from Bristol Community College. He was pursuing his career this fall by joining the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

He was an avid fisherman who loved to fish with his father and uncles. He loved the outdoors, soccer and the ocean.

Besides his parents and sister, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Gualdina Pereira of Providence; his paternal grandmother, Maria DaSilva of Pawtucket; his girlfriend, Rachel Fargo of Bozrah, CT and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Jose Pereira and the late Jose I. DaSilva.

His Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Teresa’s Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. His burial will be in Dexter Avenue Cemetery, Seekonk.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, Wednesday 4-7 p.m.
