Maureen Harnedy, 52, of Seekonk, a beautiful woman known for her bright smile and happy disposition, peacefully passed away with her parents at her side after a long illness, Friday, April 28, 2017.

Born in Providence, November 11, 1964, she was the daughter of Laura M. (Tavares) Harnedy and Francis R. Harnedy of Rumford and Little Compton.

Maureen was a professional realtor at Sage Associates of East Providence, the office manager of Carriage House Mortgage Company, and also the manager of Hunt's Mills Tavern, Seekonk. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Bayview Academy, attended Rhode Island College, and had also completed many professional courses. She was a member of the Providence, the Rhode Island, and the National Association of Realtors; a member of the Women's Council of Realtors; and member of the Ocean State Toast Mistresses Club of Rhode Island.

In addition to her parents, she leaves her daughter, Courtney A. Tammaro of Cranston; her son, Joseph F. Tammaro of Seekonk; her brother, Francis R. Harnedy II and his wife Marjorie, of Little Compton; her nephews, Cpl. Francis R. Harnedy III and Nathaniel Flynn Harnedy, also of Little Compton; her uncle, Paul J. Tavares of East Providence; her aunt, Darlene Tavares of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the niece of the late James A. Tavares, the late Charles D. Tavares, and the late Nulita "Lee" Tavares.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, May 4, at 10am in St. Margaret's Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford. Burial is private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are greatly appreciated to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942.
