Rhode Island Rose Society July 14 Meeting Features Presentation & Slide Program
“A Brief Story of the Rose through the Ages”
at Tockwotton on the Waterfront

The Rhode Island Rose Society will hold its July meeting at Tockwotton on the Waterfront in East Providence on July 14, 2018 at 9:30 AM to 12 Noon. It is free and open to the public. This month they will welcome Mirjana Toyne, past president of the Connecticut Rose Society who will present “A Brief Story of the Rose through the Ages.”

The program follows the evolution of the rose from antiquity to modern times. The slide show will explore the symbolism of the rose, the pivotal role roses played in world history and what factors contributed to the development of the modern rose as we know it today.

Following the presentation, American Rose Society Consulting Rosarians will give tips on mid-summer rose care in southern New England which will be followed by a question and answer period.
