Town of Seekonk Storm Preparation

Posted

At this time the Town of Seekonk’s Public Safety Departments are working in conjunction with the Seekonk Department of Public Works, Seekonk Board of Health and Seekonk School District to prepare for the impending snow storm forecasted to impact our area today.
An on-street parking ban for all roadways in the Town of Seekonk has been put into effect until 6pm on Friday January 5 and trash pick up for Thursday has been cancelled Due to the ongoing freezing temperatures that are forecasted to continue into the weekend, contingency plans to establish an emergency warming center will be implemented in the event of wide spread power outages. If a warming center is opened residents, will be contacted with additional details. We urge residents to monitor local media outlets as well as the town's various social media accounts @TownofSeekonkMA , @SeekonkPD , and www.facebook.com/seekonkPD for additional information.
Additionally, residents are reminded to please use 911 only in the event of an emergency. General information calls regarding public safety matters can be made using 508-336-8123. Calls regarding snow removal or trash pick up should be made to the DPW at 508-336-7407 and inquiries regarding power should be referred to your utility companies.
Lastly, we would ask residents to keep an eye out for their elderly or homebound neighbors and to assist the Fire Department by clearing snow from hydrants close to your homes.
