Ann Patricia Horan, formerly of Plymouth Road in East Providence, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family in Newport on August 13, 2018. She was one month shy of her 86th birthday. Ann survived her late husband of 40 years, Leroy Lorne Horan, with whom she had five children: Katie Horan of Newport; Michael G. Horan of Worcester; Patricia Horan Doyle of Portsmouth; Terence J. Horan of Newport; and Nancy Horan Judge of Evergreen, CO. She was the beloved mother-in-law of Mary Ellen Horan, Robert W. Judge, the late Michael M. Doyle and Susan Wickstrom Horan.

Ann, “Grammie” was the proud grandmother of Molly and Teddy Horan, John and Ty Judge, and Thomas, Joseph and Julia Horan. She immensely enjoyed her 12 nieces and nephews. Born in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of Joseph P. Clark and Katherine “Kitty” Smith and stepdaughter of Mary L. Clark. Ann is survived by her sister Mary Lou Taylor and her husband, Robert, and her brother Joseph “Jay” Clark and his wife, Carole. In her youth, Ann was an accomplished and avid sailor, summering at Cedar Tree Point in Warwick. In later years, she loved to read mysteries and enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting, and travel with her sister Mary Lou and husband Bob, and her cousin and good friend, Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Horan of Rehoboth, MA. She was an active communicant of St. Martha’s Church, East Providence.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, 2595 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations in Ann’s name to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, 34 Washington St. Suite 200, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.
