Auditions Notice— Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School Announces Dates For Online Ensembles Auditions

The Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School ensembles programs offer elementary, middle, and high school students an opportunity to rehearse and perform high quality ensemble repertoire. Student musicians from Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut are welcome to apply.

Due to social distancing guidelines, all ensemble auditions for the 2020-2021 season will take place online using the Zoom platform. Interested students that are unable to use Zoom may contact Christine Eldridge at celdridge@riphil.org or 401.248.7012 for alternate arrangements.

Ensemble programs are offered in the following categories:
• Youth Orchestras including: Beginning Strings, Intermediate Strings, String Orchestra, Repertory Orchestra, and Symphony Orchestra;
• Wind Ensembles including: Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds; and
• Jazz & Rock including: Big Band, Jazz Combos, and Rock Combos.

Audition dates and times are as follows:

YOUTH ORCHESTRAS Ensembles:
Monday, June 15, 4:00pm-8:00pm
Thursday, June 18, 4:00pm-8:00pm
Saturday, June 20, 10:00am-2:00pm

YOUTH WIND Ensembles:
Wednesday, June 10, 3:30pm-7:30pm
Tuesday, June 16, 3:30pm-7:30pm

YOUTH JAZZ & ROCK Ensembles:
Saturday, June 13, 10:00am-2:00pm
Wednesday, June 17, 3:30pm-7:30pm

The Philharmonic Music School serves students of all ages and ability levels, and provides instruction in all kinds of music through private lessons, chamber music classes, and large and small ensembles. More than 70 dedicated teachers comprise the faculty, many with degrees from some of the finest music schools in the world, and many who are orchestra members.
