Blood Drive Thank You

Posted

We, the family of the late Robert McKenna, would like to thank everyone who came out in January for the 11th Annual Blood Drive held in his memory. In addition, we truly appreciate the support of the Seekonk School Department in allowing the event to be held in the high school cafeteria. The results exceeded our expectations. There were eighty-six people who attended, resulting in seventy-five successful donations. Eight of the seventy-five were double red donors. As a result, 83 units were collected. This will potentially save 225 lives. We were thrilled to have several first time donors again this year. Hopefully they, along with others who participated, will make blood donation a regular part of their lives.

This blood drive means a great deal to our family, but it goes without saying that it's way more than blood. It's selflessness, it's community, it's connecting with friends old and new. All of these things were important to Bob and in showing up year after year, we keep his spirit bright in our hearts and in our lives.
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for being there.

The McKenna Family
Karen, Katie, Tim, Danny, Meredith, Fionntan & Orla
