Come Enjoy the Beginning of Fall Foliage Season on a Hike at Connors Farm Conservation Area in Smithfield, RI

Posted

Smithfield, RI – On Wednesday September 9, 2020 at 5:00 pm, the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) is leading a hike through the Connors Farm conservation area in Smithfield, RI. From downtown Providence to Connors Farm in Smithfield, the series tours beautiful and historic sites throughout the Woonasquatucket River watershed, with paddle trips, hikes, and bike rides.

While following State and City Covid-19 guidelines, the WRWC is excited to provide the community with an opportunity to get back outside to safely explore Rhode Island and the Woonasquatucket River corridor. Check out the full schedule at www.WRWC.ORG/EVENTS.

Located in Smithfield RI, Connors Farm is a 2.9 mile loop trail that passes by cranberry bogs, small brooks and ponds and features a picnic area at the top of a look-out spot. A variety of local wildlife including turtles, deer, frog, rabbits, foxes, hawks, and many other species of birds call this area home and can be spotted by observant hikers. Some steep inclines and rocky terrain give this, approximately two-hour, hike a moderate level of difficulty.

Visit www.WRWC.ORG/EVENTS to register for this hike and to see the full “Explore the Woonasquatucket” recreational series schedule! Advance sign-up is required & trips are capped at 10 participants.
