David R. Paine

David R. Paine, Sr. 93, of Rehoboth, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at home, with his family by his side, surrounded by love. He was the husband of the late Louise S. (Tessaglia) Paine.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Carlin) Paine.

Mr. Paine worked for twenty-five years as a Treasury Agent for the United States Government. He was an Army Veteran who served his country as a special agent for the United States Army Intelligence Counter Corp.

Faith, Family, and Friends were most important to Dave. He loved his church, adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed the company of his numerous friends, especially at the Rehoboth Senior Center. Dave had a wonderful sense of humor, a kind and gentle soul, and a very giving nature. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, music events, and other activities. Dave enjoyed all sports, reading, watching classic movies, completing puzzles, listening to jazz music, and helping others.

He leaves three sons, David R. Paine, Jr. and his wife Claudette of Rehoboth, Geoffrey A. Paine and his wife Shelly of Cranston and Scott C. Paine of San Diego, California, two grandchildren, David R. Paine III (Sarah), and Christopher A. Paine (Carolyn), three great grandchildren, Henry R. Paine, Emily E. Paine and Eleanor F. Paine, one sister, Nancy Paine-Borden of Warwick, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George A. Paine, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Avenue, Seekonk with a burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours Tuesday, April 2nd, 5-8 in the PERRY-MCSTYA FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Town of Rehoboth Council on Aging/Senior Center, 27 Francis Farm Road, Rehoboth, MA 02769.
