Dean J. Daniels, 72, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Miriam Hospital.

Born in Macon, Georgia he was a son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Mahoney) Daniels. Dean was a foreman for Verizon for 42 years where he was well liked and respected by all. He attended The University of Massachusetts before being drafted into the Army and serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was an avid spear fisherman, he loved the outdoors and he was also a Padi certified open water diver. He was a very active member of the Rumford Hunting & Fishing Club and helped out with day to day activities as well as special events. He very much enjoyed his time on the archery range. Dean was the owner of Mahoney’s Forge, whose work appeared in the RI Folk Arts Program as part of the Rhode Island 350th anniversary celebration. He appeared on WEDW as part of Connecticut’s celebration of artists and their wares and also appeared in Yankee Magazine. Dean will always be remembered as a good man.

He was the beloved father of Patrick A. Daniels of Dorchester and Casey M. Daniels of East Providence. He was the brother of Brian and Michael Daniels.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be private. Calling hours Thursday 5-8.
