Dolores Williamson Seeley

Posted

It is with great sadness that Dolores Williamson Seeley passed peacefully in her sleep on April 6, 2019. She was born on July 26, 1928 to the late Rebecca Smith and late Albert Williamson in Providence, RI. As a lifelong resident of the city, she attended Providence public schools and later met her friend and love, Clarence John Seeley, whom she married in 1947. They had 2 children, John Seeley of Phoenix, AZ, and Lorrie Seeley Reasoner of Colorado Springs. Dolores was a dedicated mother and housewife for many years before working at Rhode Island Hospital as a nurse’s assistant for more than 20 years. She will be fondly remembered for her devotion to her cats and her love of cooking. She spent many hours catering parties with her best friend and sister-in-law, the late Shirley Smith. She will equally be renowned for her lack of holding back her opinion and telling it as she saw it. Close friends and relatives brought her great joy in her later years. Daily conversions with her favorite niece, Linda Suggs Massey, gave her incredible comfort. She is survived by her children, John and Lorrie, sisters: Diane Fentress and Gloriann Cannal, brothers: Eddie Williamson and Benjamin Smith, 5 grandchildren: John Seeley III, Troy Seeley, Eric Seeley, John Reasoner III, and Alleona Reasoner, and 10 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Dolores is preceded in death by her brothers: Albert Williamson, George Smith, and Everett Smith. Heartwarming thanks goes to the dedicated and compassionate staff of Orchard View Manor and Hospice where she resided comfortably in her final days. We wish her peace as she rests in the hand of God. Her funeral services will be private.
