Dear Families,

The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District is further strengthening distance learning for students with the development of Phase II, a remote learning plan that outlines expectations for students and educators during school closure. Based on guidance from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), and input from the Dighton-Rehoboth Teachers Association, district administrative team, and families, Phase II of our remote learning plan has been developed to provide continued learning for students and opportunities for students to connect with staff. As stated, remote learning will not replicate the traditional school day, but DRRSD will use remote learning tools and instructional materials to provide students with teacher directed, student driven learning opportunities.

Key components of Phase II of our Remote Learning Plan will include:

• Prioritizing student health and well-being
• An emphasis on asynchronous learning opportunities
• The advancement of curriculum as appropriate
• Assigning credit/no credit for work completed by students
• Standardizing guidelines for staff to ensure consistency

The DRRSD Remote Learning Plan was designed as a fluid document. Changes may be made to address unforeseen issues and/or to enhance the distance learning program offered. If changes are made, all stakeholders will be notified. Click here to view the DRRSD Remote Learning Plan.

As distance learning continues during school closure, we hope to continue to be a vital resource to our students and community. The implementation of Phase II will commence on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

We appreciate your support and cooperation. Please know that we are all in this together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Anthony C. Azar
