EBCAP’s Head Start Program Recognized as a Program of Excellence by the National Head Start Association

(Newport, RI, July 12, 2022) – East Bay Community Action Program is proud to announce that its Head Start Program was recently designated as a 2022 Program of Excellence by the National Head Start Association (NHSA). According to NHSA, the Program of Excellence accreditation recognizes and supports the outstanding performance of Head Start grant recipients nationwide who demonstrate excellence in program management and service and support robust positive outcomes for children birth-to-five, pregnant people, families, and the communities where they live. The program’s accreditation period is 2022 to 2027.

“This is such an honor,” states Linda Laliberte, EBCAP’s V.P. of Head Start and Early Head Start. “Just a select few programs receive this distinction each year and we are among only 13 Head Start programs nationwide to earn a NHSA outstanding performance accreditation. All the credit goes to our dedicated Head Start staff for its commitment to the educational, emotional, and social well-being of each and every child and for supporting families in every possible way,” adds Laliberte.
