EPLAC Hosts School Transition Q&A Night for Special Ed. Families
Hello Parents,
Does your child receive special education services here in East Providence?
Do you have questions or concerns about your child’s transition into Middle School, EP High School/CTC, or the after high school Transition program?
The East Providence Local Advisory Committee for Special Education would like to invite you, along with your student, to the next EPLAC meeting on Wednesday, February 15th @ 6:30pm in the Martin Middle School library.
EPLAC is pleased to be hosting this question and answer night for those with children who are receiving special services and are “moving up” to a new school level. Joining us with an overview of the transition process to each school, will be Special Education Coordinators Marianne Walsh (Martin Middle School), Donna Rapoza ( Riverside Middle School) and Deb Ormerod (EPHS). There will be a question and answer period, and information available to take home.
The Public is welcome to attend all EPLAC meetings!
EPLAC is also accepting nominations for the annual Recognition Awards. Do you know someone who is doing a great job supporting a special needs child at school, home, in the community? Nominate them! Send us your letter of recognition. Ask for nomination form and info here: eplac@epschoolsri.com
What is EPLAC?
The East Providence Local Advisory Committee For Special Education (EPLAC) is a committee comprised of parents of children with disabilities along with administrators, teachers and others with a concern for our children. We meet throughout the school year to share information and concerns of educational issues.
Our committee’s goals are:
-To enable parents of special education children to be effective in their advocacy efforts
-To jointly advocate for all children with special needs
-To aid the East Providence School Department in its efforts to provide quality education for all students
-To provide each other with a strong network of support
Come share your voice, and bring your experiences and questions!
Thank You,
EPLAC Leadership Team
