John N. Medeiros, Jr., 95, of Seekonk, died February 3, 2020 at Elmwood Health Center. He was the loving husband of the late Bertha (Paquin) Loranger Medeiros. Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late John N. Medeiros & Roza A. (Souza) Medeiros.

Mr. Medeiros was a resident of Seekonk for 30 plus years prior to moving to Brookdale Attleboro Assisted Living in 2019.

He was a PFC in the Army Infantry serving as a Medic during WWII in Germany, France, and Central Europe. He served under General Patton at the Battle of the Bulge. After his Honorable Discharge from the military, he was a truck driver for Campanella & Cardi and then Valerie Trucking. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 251.

John loved golf and played 5 days a week until he was in his early 90’s. He was an avid Red Sox & Patriots fan and rarely missed watching a game on TV.

He is survived by his sister Rose Perry and her husband Ray, daughter Barbara Bicknell, step-daughter Linda Lee Alves and her husband Anthony, granddaughter Dina Bicknell, grandson Jason Alves, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson Carlos Jr., 1 niece and 5 nephews. He was the brother of the late Royal Medeiros, Anna Medeiros, Olive Barchi, and Hilda Jordan.

He was the long-time companion of Dottie Cunha. They spent many Friday nights dancing at the Veterans Post in Cumberland with their friends. They were also members of a local senior travel group and enjoyed listening to summer outdoor concerts in the park.

His Committal Service with Military Honors will be held Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Mount St. Mary Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Continuum Hospice, 1350 Division Road, Suite 205, West Warwick, RI 02893 will be appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to J.H. Williams & Co. Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Avenue, East Providence.
