Positive Covid-19 Case Reported at Martin School

Posted

A second positive case of Covid-19 has been reported in Seekonk schools.

Superintendent Rich Drolet announced Monday that an individual at Martin Elementary School has tested positive.

“Martin Elementary School will remain open and all contact tracing has been completed,” Drolet said in a press release. “If your child is identified as having been potentially exposed, school administration or the Seekonk Board of Health will contact you to give recommendations and instructions. If you are not contacted, you do not need to keep your child(ren) home. At this time, Martin has no close contacts. Close contacts are considered to be individuals who have been within 6 feet of distance of a COVID-19 positive individual for at least 15 minutes, while the person was infectious. Close contacts are at increased risk of transmission and must be quarantined when identified. It is important that we all continue to reflect on our practices and ensure adherence to the health and safety measures established.”

On Sunday, Drolet announced that a positive case of Covid-19 had been reported at Aitken Elementary School.
