Seekonk to Hire New Fire Chief

The Board of Selectmen voted Wednesday to hire David Rave as the town’s new Fire Chief. Rave is a Battalion Chief from East Providence with 35 years experience. “(Rave) brought a balanced approach and has the great leadership traits and we feel he would be a great mentor to all the young firefighters we have in the department,” said Town Administrator Shawn Cadime.

“He is an exceptional candidate for us,” noted selectman Justin Sullivan, who was a member of the search committee.  There were 29 applicants for the position. “We want to make sure that Seekonk continues to be a brand where people want to work, continue to work, and grow their families and build their businesses,” Cadime added.

Former Fire Chief Michael Healy retired in May 2019 but has remained in the position during the search process for a replacement. The search for a new Police Chief is ongoing. David Enos has been serving as Acting Police Chief for the last year.
