Elaine M. (Annotti) Scanlan, 87, of Woodcrest Drive, Riverside died peacefully on April 26, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John Robert Scanlan for fifty-eight years.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Rose (Capuano) Annotti, she lived in Riverside for 56 years.

Elaine graduated from Brown University receiving a Bachelor's and Master's Degree.

Mrs. Scanlan was a school teacher at the Primrose Hill School Barrington, Hope High School, Providence and Mount Pleasant High School, Providence before retiring in 1995.

Elaine was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and a member of the parish's Forever Young Club. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Riverside Circle. She enjoyed traveling, reading and cooking.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Beth Mascitti and her husband Perry of Arlington, Washington; two sons, Robert J. Scanlan of Washington D.C. and Stephen M. Scanlan and his wife Lori of Yorktown Heights, NY and three grandchildren, Michael, Jenna and Brandon. She was the mother of the late Christopher J. Scanlan and sister of the late Grace E. Wastila, Henry J. Annotti Jr. and Thomas A. Annotti.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside on Monday May 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. A private burial will follow. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
