GFWC Soup Sampler Fundraiser a Success

Posted

The GFWC of Greater Taunton Woman’s Club organized a Soup & Pie Sampler at the Winthrop Street Baptist Church on Saturday October 21st from noon to 2:00pm. The homemade soups, sandwiches, and pies were homemade by the membership and were amazing. The event was well attended, there wasn’t an empty seat in the room! Our club got nothing but compliments on how delicious everything was! Diane Huling Committee Chairman of the event did a wonderful job. Tickets were sold ahead of time and at the door. We had a good showing from the community, including Mayor O’Connell. It takes a lot of people to help set up, serve the soup, monitor the sandwich platters, cut and plate the pies, make and keep refreshing the coffee, and clean up at the end. Our members stepped up to the plate and performed their duties with a warm smile, which made everyone in attendance feel welcome and appreciated. They also enjoyed participating in the popular raffle baskets and gift cards to nearby restaurants and businesses.

WE thank Winthrop Street Baptist Church for allowing us the use of their hall. Working with our community to offer these events and sharing the benefits to the community in the form of scholarships, grants and contributions is what our club is all about.
