Kids Summer Learning

The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Summer Strings June 28-July 2 from 9:00am-11:00am. This class is geared towards students with one to three years of play experience of a string instrument. Students will be expanding their knowledge while learning new techniques and exploring musical genres. At the end of the week students will showcase their skills. The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Summer Glee Club, taught by Ms. Brittany Comfrey and Ms. Sophia Puccini. The class will take place the weeks of July 6 - July 9 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., and July 12 - July 16 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. This glee club experience gives students the opportunity to sing and dance to popular music. They will learn healthy singing techniques and build muscle knowledge, showcasing their talent at the end of the week. The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Summer Band, taught by Mrs. Christina Rasch from the Somerset Public Schools. This class will be offered in two different groups. Summer Band I will be held the week of July 19 - July 23 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. This group is geared towards students with one to two years of playing experience. Summer Band II will be held the week of July 26 - July 30 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. This group is geared towards students with three or four years of playing experience. In these classes, students will gather together under COVID-regulations while expanding their music knowledge through new techniques and exploring fun pieces of music! The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Music Technology, taught by Mr. Edward Rausch who works at Portsmouth High School. This class will take place the week of July 6 - July 9 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. This class will introduce students to the ability to create music through the use of computers, cell phones, tablets, and other forms of digital media. Students do not need to know how to read music or play an instrument, as they will be provided with hands-on technology experience to help them understand the innovations that exist in the Music Technology realm.
