Kids Summer Learning Center Programs

The 2023 Kids Summer Learning Center is returning with new fun and exciting courses for your child! New this summer are Song & Game, Junior Percussion Ensemble, and Kids Poetry.

Song & Game, offered the week of July 10 - July 14 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, is designed for students who love to sign and dance. Students will explore music and exciting singing games for many different cultures. Through games, students will be honing their musical skills by exploring the elements of rhythm and melody in a kid-friendly way. These games of energetic, group-oriented, sometimes competitive, but always fun!

Junior Percussion Ensemble, offered the week of June 26 - June 30 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, is for the students who love to drum around create their own rhythms. Students will learn songs and playing techniques on the xylophone and other percussion instruments. Emphasis will be on how to play in an ensemble and how to work with other students both in playing known songs and how to write their own song. All instruments will be provided.

Kids Poetry, offered the week of July 17 - July 21 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, is an opportunity for the students with an active imagination be able to take their thoughts and ideas and create beautiful pieces of writing. Students will develop their writing through workshops and have fun while doing so.
